FRENCH ROAST COFFEE

A dark roasted blend of smooth, sweet tasting Panamanian Bouquete coffee from the east coast of Panama with a touch of Brazil Bourbon Santos coffee. A taste so breathtaking and unique to traditional French Roast coffees. Available in 2lbs.

Notes: This blend combines wet-processed coffee from Panama's Boquete growing region with a dried-in-the-fruit Brazil from trees of the Bourbon variety of Arabica. "French" has become the accepted term among North-American roasters to describe the darkest possible degree of roast. Family-owned Cafe Excellence is a roaster based in Pennsylvania with roots in the coffee business dating to 1958. Its mission is sharing "the wonderful experience of uniquely Micro Roasted Specialty Coffee with consumers."

Blind assessment: Pungently rich aroma: charred wood, roasted nut, with hints of raisiny fruit and dark chocolate. Although the charred wood dominates in the cup the chocolate becomes more distinct and the raisiny suggestion persists. Lean mouthfeel. The finish is sweet but rather astringent.

Who should drink it: More chocolate and less char than usual in this French roast.
