Did you know that Valerio Coffee is regulated by the FDA and the Department of Agriculture? This means that food safety procedures are taken seriously. Home-based and small roasters are not regulated by the FDA. As a result, there are no inspections, no safety requirements, no reporting obligations in place whatsoever.

Here at our Roasterie alongside Anthony Valerio, our local, coffee-loving team members physically roast and package your coffee within hours of roasting. Roasted coffee is shipped fresh within 48 hours of an order being placed. Batch numbers are on all roasts and are tracked using profile technology. This assures you that steps are taken to enhance the quality of our coffee. We work hard every day to provide you with amazing coffee!

Valerio Coffee Roasters also sources great coffee through direct relationships with growers and importers. We also ensure responsible management of carbon emissions. Our roasters, though not large enough to be required, are connected to an afterburner, minimizing any smoke into the atmosphere. We care about the environment.

When you see a product with the Fair Trade Certified seal, you can be sure it meets rigorous social, environmental, and economic standards. That means: safe working conditions, environmental protection, sustainable livelihoods and community development funds.

Certified organic coffee is grown by farmers who use renewable resources and focus on the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality. This means no pesky pesticides and added chemicals. 

SINGLE ORIGIN

Our beans come from single origin geographic locations from around the world. Our coffee beans are roasted at a unique profile to ensure the full bodied taste from its origin. Valerio Coffees are single origin to experience the individuality of each growing region. 

It all started with Joe Valerio, filling an urn on a steel cart and selling coffee in factories and businesses in Bridgeport and Norristown, Pennsylvania. He was quickly ready to expand his business by loaning brewers and delivering fresh coffee to fellow entrepreneurs to brew on their own.


The Valerio family was the first coffee service provider in the Delaware Valley to brew coffee into thermal servers – keeping the coffee fresh after brewed.

Joe’s son, Anthony Valerio, studied coffee from seed to cup and quickly developed a passion for quality coffee and the roasting process.

 In 1992, he ventured the Valerio family into their first retail coffee house called Café Excellence. The coffee house was located in Glenside, Pennsylvania next to the Keswick Theater. As a young entrepreneur he blended different origins to make a unique coffee taste and worked on his barista skills, creating specialty drinks that he could call his own.


Prefer tea over coffee? We've got you covered. It all started with Marie Valerio, the ultimate tea lover. Knowing of her husband's refined palette, she encouraged a tea line to be produced. The prefix "Maja" is an acronym for Anthony's family. M for Marie, A for Anthony, J for Juliana and A for Allie. Experience our one of a kind tea blends refined for the ever-most tea connoisseur.
